“We became interested in the Chirp Protect system after experiencing significant theft of Jellycat products, with thieves taking basket loads of stock at a time.
Due to the unique layout of our store, we have an external entrance which is not permanently manned. Chirp gave us the flexibility to create a trigger point along the walkway leading towards this exit, meaning that the tag alarm is activated before a thief reaches the entrance gates. This gives our team an early alert and allows us to intercept the situation before the product leaves the store.
Since installing the system, theft of Jellycat has been hugely reduced to almost nothing. It has also given us the confidence to be able to move away from the area and free staff up.
Following the success we have seen, we have now expanded the use of Chirp Protect across other targeted brands, including Inis and Roka, product categories like perfumes, clothing, and high value items and have already seen theft attempts stopped on those product lines too. Using the systems signage in other areas not actually tagged has also reduced theft in those areas.
We are delighted with the system. It has been incredibly encouraging to see theft attempts dramatically reduce as a result of the protection we now have in place.
